Koh Lipe is an island paradise in the South Andaman Sea, famous for it’s white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters. It is also known as the “Maldives of Thailand“. It is claimed to have crystal clear water and shiny white sand beach. Besides, it is one of the nearest island of Thailand to Malaysia.
There are three beaches in Koh Lipe: the most popular is the Pattaya Beach where the boat docks, next is the Sunrise Beach,where you can see a beautiful view of sunrise and the last one Sunset Beach.
While approaching the island, you can really see the white sand and azure water while you are in the speedboat. The speedboat stopped in a shallow area,so expect your feet to be wet.The sand is white, the sea is turquoise and crystal clear and the edges of the beaches are full of luscious greenery.
Our Thai friend registered our names .We found the taxi going to our resort.I was surprised of their taxi.Check the photo below..
Going to our hotel was confusing.LOL,the driver didn’t actually followed the wider path and went to a narrow man made path which could be the short cut to our resort.We stayed in Ko Lipe Resort .Click this link to know more about the resort:

WHERE TO GO /WHAT TO DO IN KO LIPE
1.GO TO THE WALKING STREET
Walking Street located at Pattaya Beach, where visitors can shop, eat and have a bottle of beer. The place also has like a mini cinema, I saw two restaurants which played movies and customers were lying on a comfortable couch.However, almost all shops close at 12am.
Food wouldn’t be a problem here. There are a wide array of restaurants to choose from.
We spent most of our nights at the bar by the beach. Chilling while having some fun conversation…
2. HAVE FUN UNDER THE SUN
We spent most of our time here relaxing on the beach, swimming in the sea and walking along the shore. It seemed like you owned a private island and people don’t mind you at all.
3.GO ISLAND HOPPING
My Thai friend contacted the locals near our resort for an afternoon island tour. The boat was all for us. It made me laugh because when they knew that I am a Filipina, they were telling me about “Pacquio” 😂🤗
Leaving the island gave me a wider view of the shoreline. This spectacular view!!!

Our boat tour had several stopped in several small islets, usually for snorkeling. I was really afraid this time because the fishes were clearly visible from the boat, and i felt like the current was pulling me. 😂 yet it didn’t hinder me from taking a dip.
This is our next stop. It is a small islet basically with stones almost covering the place. I enjoyed looking at the stones and cheking the traces of nature on them
On our way to our next islet we passed by this area where most of those people who were on the water were Chinese. They seemed of be enjoying the water. It looked so deep. 😱😱
We stayed longer in this islet. The crystal clear waters in this beautiful place were all inviting.
There is a small store selling some snacks and refreshments. Be careful of 🐒 🐒
Indeed a worthwhile tour. Felt my whole body burning. ☀️😬😃
HOW TO GO TO KO LIPE
👉My point of origin is Phuket
~~ book a plane ticket to Hat Yai
~~ from the airport you can take a taxi going to the Pak Barra port. (As for our case ,we left our luggage in my friends’ house ). It took us about 2 hours to get to the port.
~~ buy your round trip ferry ticket there. As for us we purchased our ticket in the office found in the port.
~~The speedboat trip is about an hour and a half or two .Expect a bumpy/rough ride..
